The Legacy of the Recondo School

Recondo is a highly specialized graduate of the Recondo School, trained to lead small, heavily armed long-range reconnaissance teams deep into enemy-held territory.

Located approximately 20 miles from the outer drop zones of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the Recondo School pushed soldiers to their absolute limits. With five classes a year training about 50 students each, the grueling three-week course was a test of unmatched endurance. For the first two weeks, the day began at 4:00 A.M. with a five-mile run, followed by intense physical training and tactical classes. In the final week, students executed a helicopter jump, immediately transitioning into practically nonstop patrol assessments until they returned to the school.
